Part One: Brief Summary: on Our Unique Features
"Our supportive education materials are research-basedintegrated and free."  There are 3 general concepts (see underlined words) in this statement!
'Research-based Materials': our materials have been prepared based on research (They are the first in Ethiopia!)!
  • First I had conducted research on our students and the books they studied for their exams.
  • From my research, I proved that both of them had a number of weaknesses! 
  • Based on that all contents in our Website are prepared!

☞'Integrated Materials': they integrated English and study techniques!
  • English Materials: We provide different materials: special handouts, practice questions (Integrated worksheets, Grade 12 Entrance Exams, Grade 10 National Exams, model exams, class exams...) and exam techniques on all English Subject topics!
  • Study Techniques Materials: these are materials that show students scientific ways (how to study) which could be used for any subject, by any student at any grade level (grades 9-12)!
☞ 'Free Materials': Our materials are free!
  • You can read them (our materials) online (on Yes Tutorial), you can also save/download/print and then read or share with anyone, anywhere, at any time for free!

Part Two: Detail Explanation on Our Unique Features
Overview
This part is presented for anyone who wants to know more about uniqueness of our contents/supportive education materials!
As it has been mentioned above, our uniques features are categorized under 3 general features: 
  • Our approach: 'integrative approach'
  • Our contents preparation and provisions
  • Our materials themselves
1. Our Approach is 'Integrative Approach'

One of our key features that make our contents unique is the approach that we follow/use: 'Integrative Approach'! This section has two sub-sections: our beliefs and our framework to be used as guideline.
1.1. Our Belief: there must be change!
I strongly believe that "the current students' preparation that they make for their 'academic achievement exams' should be changed!"
☞ The change should, mainly, focus on two issues:
♦ Students' preparation conditions: They should make integrative preparation. They should have both "subject matter and learning strategy contents" knowledge.
♦ Supportive education materials/services: The books or other materials /services that students use (for their academic achievement exams) also must be changed/improved.
☞ There are two general reasons behind this belief: theoretical and practical.
♦ Students are expected to have both subject matter and also learning strategy knowledge to be successful on exam. In addition to learning subject matter contents, ''learning how to learn'' is also very essential!
♦ Both students' preparation and the books or other materials /services that they use were not integrative (subject matter and learning strategy contents)!
☞ One of the solutions to solve these is applying integrative approach!
1.2. Our Framework to Apply 'Integrative Approach'
'Integrative Approach' is not new; it is being used widely in various sectors. "Integrated curriculum" is one of the most common experience in education sector. 
☞ But our 'integrative approach' to prepare and provide supportive education materials/services is largely based on the next 3 guiding principles as framework.
1.2.1. Integration of research and solutions
Our first guiding principle is that 'there must be integration between researches and solutions'.
☞ Identifying existing researches and also existing gaps.
  • "Existing theories/researches": refers to identifying what science/researches say about students' academic achievements.
  • "Existing gaps": refers to identifying the realities on the ground: gaps/drawbacks/problems of the students and also that of existing supportive education materials/services that they (students) use.
☞ Designing solutions/strategies and also making them reach users. In addition to identifying existing researches and existing gaps:
  • Solutions/strategies must be designed
  • Designing solutions/strategies is not enough; they must be made reach the users.
Note: We have done all our works based on these!
1.2.2. Contents Integration
"Contents integration" is another guiding principle (of our approach)! That means, there must integration of both 'subject matter and learning strategy contents' while preparing and providing our supportive education materials/services!
1.2.3. Having Necessary Background
☞ Having necessary background (for what to be done) is very essential (common knowledge)!
☞ We believe that we have to have it! We also believe that we have strong background to prepare and provide supportive education materials/services.
Note: Our mission, all our works, contents are derived from this framework. All the ideas that have been theoretically mentioned under the framework section are practically put into action. See the next general features and all our works, contents/materials!
2. Our Content Preparation and Provision
Overview
The second general feature in which the uniquenesses of our contents is manifested is the way our materials have been prepared and provided based on our approach. These include 4 points: they are research-based, integrated and free supportive education materials! Moreover, we have strong background for our works. These are briefly summarized here under.
2.1. Research-based: 3 sub-categories
Our contents are research-based contents. The details were given in my research (if you like,  click here, to see the research! )
2.1.1. Based on previous researches
They have been prepared based on previous researches that have been conducted/done on students' academic achievement.
☞ To be successful on exam, students are expected to have not only subject matter knowledge but also learning strategies knowledge (they should learn how to learn)!
☞ Various researches and also our day-to-day experience clearly show these.
2.1.2. Based on existing gaps/drawbacks/problems
All our materials (handouts/worksheets...) have been prepared based on currently existing problems!
  • I have conducted research on with students and also on the books they studied for exams.
  • Based on my research, I was able to prove that both the students and also the books that they studied (for exam) had many drawbacks/gaps (concerning subject matter and learning strategy contents).
2.1.3. Having Empirical Base/Pilot Tested Contents
The third reason why I said ''our contents are research-based'' is that almost all our contents have empirical base! That means, they were pilot tested (applied/used) before they are posted on our blog!
  • Preparing: first, I have prepared them based on identified drawbacks.
  • Testing by using: I have tested them by using in my classroom instructions (regular and also tutorial classes). I have also uploaded them on social media before publishing on the Blog.
  • Revising and publishing: finally, I revise (if any problem) and then publish them on our blog.
☞ These are completely new features in supportive education materials history (especially in Ethiopia)!
2.2. Integrated Contents: 4 sub-categories
Our contents are not only research-based but also they are integrated contents (as roughly mentioned under our approach).
☞ Generally, our supportive education materials integrate 'subject matter' and 'learning strategy' contents.
  • They (our contents) are organized and presented under 4 general categories.
  • All these 4 issues are inseparable issues/contents (see them on 3)!
  • Each category has its own unique features and also material (we prepared)!
☞ The other unique feature (of our contents) is that we provide integrated contents on our blog! 
  • This is completely 'new' features in 'supportive education materials/services' history (especially in Ethiopia)!
2.3. Free supportive education materials and supported by information
  • Free materials: Our contents are not only research-based integrated contents but also free supportive education materials. Anyone can read them online/by saving/downloading/even printing for free (directly on Yes Supportive Education Blog)!
  • Supported by information: Detail information is given to the users:
    • How to download/save/print
    • The advantages and disadvantages of each of them (reading online/saving/downloading/printing) are briefly summarized!
2.4. Having Strong Background
The author and the founder of this blog, me, I have strong background for the contents being provided!
This is to say that I have strong background for the contents that I have been providing on this blog!
2.4.1. Theoretical background:
I have theoretical/education background for these works. I graduated:
  • English: B. Ed. Degree  and MA in English /MA in TEFL;
  • Pedagogy: B. Ed. Degree in Pedagogical Sciences
  • ICT: PC Diploma + more exposure to ICT materials and also services.
2.4.2. Practical background/experience
I have practical background, more than 15 years (2007-2023) working experience as:
-Teacher (English and Psychology)
-Tutor (online and face-to-face)
-Author (book: Yes I Can: English and Study Techniques and many more unpublished supportive education materials) teaching
-Guidance and counselor (formal and also informal)
2.4.3. Strong interest:
I have not only theoretical and practical background but also strong interest in writing (preparing teaching materials), teaching, guidance and counseling service...!
